Today I’m going to smell my bedroom door.

Why? Why, you ask? Because I want to know what it smells like. Why would I want to know what my bedroom door smells like, you ask? So if the police comes to my house, I’ll be able to tell them. Why would the police come to my house, you ask? That’s classified information.

Now quiet, you. I don’t need justification for the insane things I do. I just need to keep my nostrils happy.

On another note, today is Halloween. I think I’ll go as a naked person, or as a crazy girl with no life. But if that doesn’t work out, I’ll go as a crazy David Archuleta fangirl. Now that will scare the bajeebies out of everyone.

Oh, and does anyone find this as strangely amusing as I do?

I…have a blog?!

Today was an altogether unremarkable day. It was Thursday, October 30, the National Day of Unremarkableness. But what shocked me on this particular day was that a certain somebody reminded me that I have a blog…that I haven’t updated since human civilization began. “Hey, what was the address of your blog?” the person said. “I forgot it.” And then it hit me. I HAVE A BLOG. THAT I HAVEN’T UPDATED IN FOREVER. HOLY GUACAMOLE, I COMPLETELY FORGOT. I mean, it’s not like anyone actually READS my blog, it’s just the kind of thing I do to entertain myself, but I really should get around to updating it again.

Okay, so now that I have a blog that I have completely ignored for the past several months, I guess it’s time to…blog. About stuff. ‘Cuz that’s what blogs are for, fo shizzle.

Today I saw my brother watching Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel, which, as everyone should know, is a truly epic television show about a guy with a German accent that falls in love with a platypus that everyone should watch for the lulz. So I was inspired to make this comic. I don’t expect anyone to understand it, or find it funny in the slightest. You better take a sip of his lemonade, Perry. Otherwise the world could end as we know it.

Forget John McCain or Barack Obama, guys. PERRY THE PLATYPUS FOR PRESIDENT.

Geography game

Today, I found a fun little game at this website: http://www.travelpod.com/traveler-iq

It’s very addicting, and can help you learn geography! It’s called the Traveller IQ game, and is parent-approved worldwide. The name of a famous place in the world will appear at the top of the screen, and you have to click as close as possible to the location to get points and advance to the next level. I got my dad hooked on this game, but he can’t get a traveller IQ higher than 100…ha ha.

My high score is 112, yeah!

Custom brushes

Are you angry that on MS Paint, the only brushes you have are circles, squares, and lines?

Well, fear not, because here’s a tutorial on how to make your own very spiffy custom brushes.

First, you have to find your custom brush. You can use absolutely anything you want for your brush–you can draw a sketch of a heart, use an image you found on Google, or even open up a picture of your grandma. I drew my name.

Now here’s the fun part. Click on the Rectangular Selection button in MS Paint (that’s the button with a dotted-line rectangle) and drag out a selection around your ‘custom brush’. Click on ‘Image’ at the top and make sure ‘Draw Opaque’ isn’t checked.

You should see a blue dotted-line rectangle around your picture. Press the ‘Shift’ key on your keyboard and HOLD IT. Don’t let go until I tell you to. Now click on the picture–and drag it around! Look what happens!

The FCAT test

Every year, us Floridians (or, as my crazy language arts teacher from 'My weird teacher' would say, we Floridians) have to take a standardized test. It’s called the ‘Florida comprehensive assessment test’, or FCAT for short, except people don’t pronounce it ‘eff-see-ay-tee’. They refer to it as ‘eff-cat’. In third grade, we used to have a person dressed in a cat costume come to our class and give us FCAT tips, but not anymore. We don’t even have a picture of a smiling cartoon cat on the front cover of the test booklet, like we used to. I guess we’re too old for that kind of stuff.

Anyway, I thought the test was going to be easy. Anyway, I took the SAT, didn’t I? I can pass an eff-cat test, right?

And I was right. It was easy. I don’t even know why teachers make such a big deal out of it, since a fifth grader could probably take my test and pass it with flying colors. (That last sentence, by the way, reminded me of that game show, “Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?” Ha ha, funny.)

Over the past few days, we took a reading and math test, and next Monday we’re going to take the NRT, or ‘norm-referenced test’. It’s the section of the FCAT that compares your test scores to the national average, or something. The NRT is notorious for being incredibly easy. The test booklet is even COLORED, for crying out loud. It’s like the teachers gave us the 3rd grade test on mistake!

I’m about 99.9999999% that I’m going to pass this FCAT.

The pi song

Here I am, back with some more geekiness.

So in algebra class, we’re all getting ready for Pi Day, on March 14 (get it, 3/14? 3.14? Pi? Ha, ha.)(You don’t celebrate pi day? Frankly, I’m appalled…)(Parentheses, awesome.)

For extra credit, we have to do various pi-related activities, such as bringing in round-shaped snacks for the class and measuring its area and circumference, memorizing as much digits of pi as we can and reciting them to the class, and writing an essay about Albert Einstein (since March 14 is also, coincidentally, his birthday.)

Well, for pi day, I’m going to write a song. It’s to the tune of “Hey Ya!” by Outkast. I’ve got it sorta in my head right now, so I’m going to type it out right now for your reading pleasure…Enjoy.

Curse replacements

Frustrated that you can’t swear without getting people offended left and right? Yeah, me too. Well, fear not, for I have two alternative swear words for you, the reader, of which I have so little of.

Flack- My all-time favorite. Replacement for the ‘f-bomb’, as you should very well know. Ever heard someone say ‘I’m not taking flack from you’? That’s where I got this from. It fits in nicely in certain situations, as in “What the flack is wrong with you?” or “That’s flackin’ annoying.” Better yet, simply “Flack!” for when you’re so frustrated, you can’t think of anything else to say.

Nerf- I use it as an insult. Example: “That little nerf thinks she can get away with what she did?” Occasionally I put a little spin on the word, such as “You nerfer!” Genius, isn’t it? I think so.

No, I don’t care if you think these cusses sound stupid. I use them all the time.

Fracking awesome

On Wednesday, I went to a FPS competition.

And no, I don’t mean FPS as in first-person shooter. I mean future problem solving. Yes, I know that I sound like a really geeky person, but FPS is actually pretty great. You get out of school for 3 days to go to competitions, which involve 2 hours of work. After that, you can go wherever you want and hang out at the hotel you’re staying at. Sweet! FPS is also super-helpful for your resume and college applications, so I had to go for it. Right? Does FPS sound fracking awesome or what?

Anyway, we attended the awards ceremony on the last day (today) and guess what we won? 2nd place. I’m talking 2ND PLACE. 2ND FREAKING PLACE, out of about a hundred teams. That means that we get to go to Cocoa Beach (yes! yes! yes!) for the statewide competition.

When I got home, I recieved even more good information. A month ago, I entered a talent search, where I and other kids my age would take the SAT early (ugh, I am so, so geeky). And I got a 1600! Can you imagine it? I’m not even going to have to take the SAT again for years, but I got a 1600! What a beautiful number.

I deserve a hug.

Fishy

If you’ve ever played the game ‘Fishy’ by XGen Studios here, you know it’s about a little fish who has to survive by eating smaller fish than itself, and avoiding bigger ones. Well, I played it for a while and got a super-huge fish who eventually killed off the entire ecosystem. Here are some piccies:
